Galymph

MY SHAYLA 😭😭😭 I feel so maternal

"Monstrological taxonomy has been forced to reimagine many well-established methods of classification, thanks in large part to the often confounding nature of the Paironormals. Pareidolia is at play when beholding the Galymph, whose Major form presents as a pair of Monsters, or... a pair of a pair. A pair of Paironormals. With its obscuring frills, calcified cladding and matted aetherfronds, the Ambiguity Paironormal obfuscates its true form with a subtle deftness. The sound of its voices singing in unison suggests a cooperation between two beings - with the 'rider' mindfully controlling the 'steed' - but one must be cautious they aren't being taken for a ride. When revealed in its Minor form, the dorsal cladding has ablated, revealing a body packed with plasmonodules. Its aetherfronds, now more sparse, have lost their lushness, exposing that the 'steed and rider' combo is, in fact, a single connected Monster. Observers of both Major and Minor Galymphs share a preternatural understanding of a mysterious truth: that this Paironormal is actually the micro-organism dwelling in the fluid-filled vessels of a gargantuan creature, under the sway of this mysterious force from beyond the Carnival."-Monster Bio

I considered making a whole shrine about My Singing Monsters for awhile, but here's a page focusing on one specific monster from that game. :)

Galymph is a Triple-Element Paironormal monster found on the Paironormal Carnival. It was added to the game on March 25, 2026. It is known as the Ambiguity Paironormal due to its obscure nature. Nobody really knows what it represents at first. It shares a similar silhouette to Epic Pinghound (who was also released the same day), and the "rider's" design looks rather human.

It is voiced by composer Tom Meikle and contributes to the song by singing distorted "nuunaa, nuunaa" vocals.

The species' name comes from the words "galumph" and "lymph". Most of its possible nicknames come from ancient mollusks.

How it reprents each element:

Control: The "rider" appears to be controlling the "steed". The "steed" is actually puppeteering the "rider" with its tail.

Hoax: Its major form appears to be two separate monsters (with one riding the other). Its minor form reveals that it's actually a single monster.

Depths: Its design is based on deep sea creatures (sea snails and the telescopefish). It's a microorganism that lives in a much larger being, and it comes from the Beyond (MSM's version of outer space).

Lemme tell you I LOVED THIS THING EVER SINCE IT RELASED!!! I haven't felt this attached to a MSM character in AGES. It has such an amazing design that represents each of these elements so well. I love the color scheme. I think this guy's whole vibe fits my current aesthetic. I'm also a sucker for marine biology, so Galymph is right up my alley.

I worked on an animated short film during my spring semester and Galymph released during production. Coincidentally its design kinda looks like my character Jaundice, which makes me love it even more! XD

Shortly after Galymph released, instead of making normal fanart people decided to make a bunch of memes and Rat Fink references. Here's a big gallery of memes I compiled:

I did my own take on Galymph Fink and made these Petpet gifs :)

people also made Rule 34 fanart NOT EVEN A WEEK AFTER RELEASE LMAO

To wrap things up: very cool monster. definitely a top 5 for me.

instant smash
